Located in the Eastern Mojave Desert between the metro areas of Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Mojave National Preserve protects 1.6 million acres of diverse desert habitat and 10,000 years of diverse human history. The landscape is vast and inspiring, from cactus gardens to native desert grassland, from pinion-juniper forest to ancient white fir forest.
Home to magnificent spring blooms, 700-foot sand dunes, natural springs, bighorn sheep, desert tarantulas, and numerous mountain ranges, the Preserve is one of California's best-kept secrets.
